Ford Looking To Free Up Space By Removing Steering?

With where autonomous driving is going now, we won’t be surprised if driving is no longer neccesary in a few years time as automakers introduce new techs to drive the vehicle for the driver.

To make sure they got all the grounds covered, Ford has filed for a new patent just in case such a future arrives. The new patent filed is about a removable steering wheel and pedals for autonomous vehicles.

That means the driver can choose to stow away the steering and pedal and give the vehicle full control. They can always take it back out and regain control of the car if they want to.

While the idea itself is pretty interesting, it is still very scary to leave everything to the vehicle. Of course, this is just a patent and we might not even see it in the future but what do you think of a future like that?
