Ford announced that they will be recalling the Ford Focus after it was discovered that there might be an issue with the engines of these vehicles.

According to the reports, the canister purge valve on some of their models might malfunction and be stuck open creating an excessive vacuum in the fuel system. This could lead to the fuel tank deforming to give the fuel gauge inaccurate reading and that can cause the vehicle to stall while driving.

The recall will affect 1.5 million units of vehicles here in the US. Affected models will be those made from 2012 to 2018 that is fitted with a 2.0 liter GDI and 2.0-liter GTDI engine. Ford added that no crashes caused by the issue were reported.
