Ford Explorer Not Out Of The Water Yet Despite Fix

By  |

When it was revealed that the Ford Explorer exhaust fumes where making its way into the Ford Explorer passenger compartment, Ford had no choice but to recall their fix and offer to fix it for their customers but it looks like the fix that they offered were not enough as owners continue to report the issue even after their vehicle was fixed.

Center for Auto Safety reported that the complaints about the exhaust fumes coming into the passenger compartment continued even after the customer took their Explorer in for the repairs last October.

This means that the fix that Ford offered did not solve the issue and the agency is now asking NHTSA to look into the matter once more and see if another recall is needed for the Ford Explorer.

The last solution was to replace the liftgate drain valves and inspect the sealing. Ford also reprogrammed the air conditions. According to Ford, the complaints decreased after the last recall campaign.
