Ford Battery Issue Leads To Recall In Europe

Ford will have to issue a recall in Europe after it was reported that some of their vehicles might have a battery issue that could lead to a fire.

Models affected by the recall will including the Ford Mondeo, S-Max, and Galaxy that were built from February 2014 to February 2019. It was reported that the battery acid could leaked around the negative terminal caussing the battery monitoring system sensor to fail and then lead to the battery overheating increasing the risk of a fire.

About 101,000 units of Ford models will be affected by the recall in Germany while an additional 56,000 models from the UK will be recalled as well. Since the issue will affect the newly build models as well, the updated 2019 S-Max and Galaxy will also be affected by the recall.

Those affected will be contacted by Ford to get their vehicle repaired free of charge.
