Ford wants to aim high and double the fleet of SUVs by 2020 so that they can cater for the demand in the US which is on the increase.

Reuters said that before the end of the decade there is going to be 13 Ford SUVs and crossovers on the market. The same report said that three of the models have been given the go ahead for production already.

The new 2018 Ford Expedition is among them and it is going to take on the Chevrolet Tahoe and the Suburban.

Ford is going to import the EcoSport over from India to the US before starting production of the Ford Bronco, which should begin during 2019. There is also going to be an electric compact crossover vehicle coming our way too.

The arrival of the Ford Bronco is going to be mean that Ford has a proper competitor to the Jeep Wrangler, however as Ford is going to double the SUV fleet it is going to be taking on the entire Jeep brand along with the SUVs from Chevrolet.
