FCA Makes Ram 1500 & Grand Cherokee Look Guilty As Sin

By  |

FCA has given shareholders the bad news that they are looking at fines of up to $4.6 billion if the regulators decided against them and say that they cheated on diesel emissions. This news as made the Ram 1500 along with the Grand Cherokee look very guilty indeed.

The FCA gave the news to investors that they had been given subpoenas and requests for information from the US Department of Justice, Security and Exchange Commission. It has been alleged that they fitted 104,000 diesel pickups and SUVs with devices designed to cheat emissions testing.

Of course FCA have denied any wrong doing and the EPA said that there were eight auxiliary emission control devices on the 2014 to 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup along with the 4 litre diesel version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Use of the devices is legal but disclosure of them to the regulators has to have been given before they can be sold in the US.

So the FCA do seem to have made the Grand Cherokee and the Ram 1500 look guilty, but whether or not they are is for the courts to decide.
