Android fans were happy to hear that the Google Assistant feature of the new Pixel devices was going to be made available on any Android handset with Android 6.0 Marshmallow or Nougat.

Google said that the voice assistant would be making its way out onto handsets in the US that have English as their device language. But when will you see the assistant arrive on your phone?

There are some things that you can do to make sure that you get Google Assistant sooner rather than later. You can join Google Play Services Beta and then choose to become a tester.

You should then wait for a few seconds and then open up Play Store on your handset and go to My Apps. Head to the Beta tab and wait for an update along with checking to find out if the Google has any pending updates.

You will now have to wait and keep checking to find out if you have Google Assistant by holding down the home button for a few seconds.
