All-new Chrysler 880: Giulia & BMW M5 Killer Coming This Year?

By  |

The Alfa Romeo Giulia has its sights set on the BMW M5 and Tesla Model S if its performance figures and design language have anything to go by. But now it looks like Chrysler may be gunning for the same market.

If you check out the official Chrysler website you will be greeted with announcements of their upcoming redesigned Chrysler 200, 300 and Town & Country minivan. But there is one more vehicle listed there that we never heard of – the Chrysler 880.

Now if the numbering is anything to go by, it is likely a sedan and one with a bigger liter engine than the Chrysler 300 hence Chrysler 880.

We have seen the likes of the Alfa Romeo Giulia, Tesla Model S and of course the BMW M5 show us that family sedans can in fact also be exhilarating rides if you equip it with an engine that’s up to the task. And that’s why we are looking at the Chrysler 880 as a monster sedan.

If we had to throw a wild guess, the Chrysler 880 could possibly borrow the engine from the Dodge Viper. Can you think of any other performance engines under the same umbrella brand that the Chrysler 880 could utilize? Sound off in the comments below!

Judging by the picture, it is probably a plug-in hybrid vehicle. The first “8” is a fuel pump. The second “8” and the “0” are electrical plugs.

880 could relate to the total distance between fuel fill-ups?

Although as a horsepower junkie, I would love to see another large high-hp sedan hit the market…

The author needs to realize it takes a lot more than just a big motor or quick 0-60 times to make a great sedan.
