Chevrolet Silverado: Steering Issue Cause Recall

By  |

GM will be issuing a recall to bring back the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon XL, and Cadillac Escalade after reports of the power steering stopped working mid-drive.

According to the reports, the power steering will stop working which will make even harder for the driver to steer the vehicle, especially at low speeds. According to the reports, no accidents and injuries were reported because of the issue.

GM will be fixing the issue by updating the power steering module software for free. THose affected by the recall will be the 2015 models. This is not the first time this issue was found on a GM model as it was reported that back 2014, GM also had to issue a recall to pick 800,000 pickup trucks worldwide for the same issue.

No word on when GM will be releasing the updates.
