Chevrolet Bolt: From Bits To Full Vehicle

By  |

LG has and still is the primary electronic components manufacturer for the Chevrolet Bolt including the electric Motor, Battery cells, power inverter, power distribution module and more but now, they are looking to go even further.

According to the reports, LG will be building a 250,000 square foot plant in Detroit. The plant will employ 300 people and will start its production in 2018. It is believed that this is done so that GM can overcome the import issue since the Chevrolet Bolt will be assembled in their Lake Orion facility.

The plant will be getting a $2.9 million boost over the next four years thanks to the Michigan Business Development Program. With the increase of electric powered vehicles, this looks like the right way to go for LG.

With the new plant, LG would be able to build most of the Bolt parts.
