Borgward BX7 SUV Goes Electric

The Borgward BX7 made its debut a few years ago at the Frankfurt Motor Show and now it is getting its own electric version. Borgward revealed the BXi7 this week along with a new GT SUV.

The Borgward BXi7 will be coming in with a BX7 design but instead of the standard engine under the hood, the BXi7 will be fitted with two independent motors that will be offering about 390Nm of torque. The engine will allow the BXi7 to go from 0-62mph in 7.9seconds with a top speed of 195km/h. They also added that the BXi7 will have an electric range of 375km and will only need 45 minutes to charge up to 80%.

Borgward also unveiled the new BX6 which they are saying is their new GT SUV. We did see the concept a few years ago at the Geneva Motor Show and now we get to see the production version. The vehicle was fitted with an eagle wing-shaped taillight, headlights and a set of 19inch alloy wheels. Under the hood is a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that will be mated to a six-speed auto transmission and will be offering about 221hp and 300Nm.

The BX6 is expected to arrive at the end of this year or early next year depending on the region.
