There have been a lot of talks and speculation regarding the BMW X8 but the latest rumor claim that the vehicle will be offered with three variant options with one of them being the PHEV model.
BMWBlog reported that the M-Performance plug-in hybrid model will be powered by a 3.0 liter straight-six gasoline engine paired with an electric motor. The powertrain would be able to deliver about 388hp and 443lb ft of torque.
The PHEV model will need about 5.6 seconds to go from 0-62mph and will have a top speed of 146mph. There were also talks about an M model bring offered and it is believed that the range-topping model will only be arriving in 2022 and that could even get a PHEV as well with a V8 engine and an electric motor but with BMW keeping quiet on the matters, it would be best to take it all in with a pinch of salt for now.
