three of the best devices out right now are the Apple iPhone 5, the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Blackberry Z10. All of the handsets are top of the range and there has been spec comparisons made of them. As most people use their phone as their camera we thought it would be interesting to take a look at how the cameras compare.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Apple iPhone 5 came out in 2012 and both have been hits. The Blackberry Z10 has only just been announced last week and it comes with BB10. The handset is already in the UK and Canada and the US will be getting it in March. Instead of going all through the specs again you can check out the comparison to see that all devices have plenty to offer.

The Apple iPhone 5 has the 8 megapixel camera and this has auto focus, LED flash and it can take video and HD photos at the same time. It also have geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and HDR, plus there is a 1.2 megapixel camera on the front that takes video at 720p and 30 frames per second, it support FaceTime over Cellular or Wi-Fi.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has an 8 megapixel camera and this comes with autofocus, LED flash, video recording and HD photo taking, geo-tagging, touch focus, image stabilisation and smile, face detection. The device can capture video at 1080p and there is a camera on the front of 1.9 megapixels with 720p and 30 frames per second.

The Blackberry Z10 comes with an 8 megapixel camera and this too has autofocus and LED flash. It supports auto-focus, geo tagging and face detection, takes video at 1080p and has stabilisation for video. It comes with a 2 megapixel camera on the front, which can record video at 720p and 30 frames per second.

CNET tested the cameras and used settings that were automatic and they did not enhance the photos. There were extras that may have made the photos better, however to ensure this was a fair test, they were not used. The photos were taken from the exact same sport and each of them was taken after the other so as to make sure that the conditions were the same.

12 images were taken with each camera, in daylight, night, close up, distance, inside and outside. The images posted here show the photo from the Apple iPhone 5 at the top, the Samsung Galaxy S3 in the middle and then the photo from the Blackberry Z10 at the bottom. The photos of the Samsung Galaxy S3 were the lightest and colours were not as rich. The photos of the Blackberry Z10 or the Apple iPhone 5 came out better in almost all cases.

If you are looking for a good camera phone and you want something other than iOS or Android then the Blackberry Z10 would be a great option. Check out the images and let us know what you think?
