Audi Says Goodbye To Q4 SUV – For Now

By  |

While Audi has only just recently trademarked the Q4 SUV nameplate it is looking as though for now the company has said goodbye to its arrival. Now it has been said that the vehicle isn’t going to be put into production until 2021 as they are re-evaluating plans following the Volkswagen diesel scandal.

Audi said that they are behind in time planning when it comes to the next stage of vehicles that have the base of MBQ architecture. These plans are said to include the replacement to the Audi A3 too and the family compact is going to soldier on until 2019, when we expect to see the next generation arrive.

Audi is at the moment working on fixing damage that was caused by Volkswagen and the rigged diesel units. The news also came following the announcement that Audi had retired from endurance racing, which shows that the backwash of the scandal hit not only the VW Group hard but also Audi.

It is thought that Audi is focusing on the launch of the Audi Q6 e-tron and they want to launch it by 2018. This is part of the plan they have in place for allocation of engineering and financial resources to bring alternative fuel vehicles to the market as soon as they can possibly do so.
