Audi A8 To Bring Back Legendary Name

By  |

It looks like Audi will be bringing back one of their legendary names to their lineup as the automaker announced that the Audi A8 will be getting a Horch version.

The vehicle will be coming in as the top-of-the-range version of the Audi A8 sedan. The Horch version will be getting a few extra features like the Horch logo on the flanks and C-pillar, different wheels and more.

No word on what engine Audi will be fitting on the A8 Horch but there was speculation that it might be a twin-turbocharged W-12 engine.

Horch was a successful luxury brand in Germany from 1920s to 1930s. Production for the vehicles ceased in 1940 due to the war. Although we have seen Audi play with the name a few times, they have not seen one made it into production until now. The Horch badged A8 will be coming in when the Audi A8 gets an upgrade in two to three years time.
