While the Samsung Galaxy S3, Android’s poster child, is readily available on AT&T and going head to head with its biggest rival the iPhone 5, Sammy will be sending in reinforcements later this year.

3 New Galaxy phones to join Samsung’s fight against iPhone 5 on AT&T

Today Samsung and AT&T announced three new Android smartphones to join the Samsung Galaxy S3 on the second largest network in the US – the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Express and Galaxy Rugby Pro.

Samsung Galaxy Express: Android 4.0 ICS, dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 4.5″ Super AMOLED Plus display, LTE, 5MP camera and 2000mAh battery complete the list of known specs.

Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro: LTE, Android 4.0 ICS, rugged body built to 810g military specifications, 4″ WVGA Super AMOLED display and 5MP camera.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2: This phablet needs no introduction and AT&T version is the same as the international model except for some AT&T branding on the rear and LTE radios to support AT&T’s 4G bands.

No word on price or exactly when they will join the Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 on AT&T but if we had to guess, it would be in the coming weeks and their price points would sit below that of the iPhone 5 sans the Galaxy Note 2.
