Android Auto Given Safety Boost

Drivers loved the fact that Google offered up Android Auto for all users but they were saddened by the fact that they still had to manually tap the microphone whilst driving for the app to respond to commands. This of course isn’t the safest way to use the app as it still requires you to take your eyes off the road and hand off the steering wheel.

Thankfully Google have rectified this issue as they have given Android Auto a safety boost by way of an update. Now the driver can simply say Ok Google and then use their command. This means that you don’t have to take your eyes off the road for a split second to touch the display.

To enable voice detection just go into the settings and then voice and OK Google detection.

The new update means that all Android owners can now use Android Auto in their vehicles when they connect it to the car display or dock their device.
