Alfa Romeo 8C Looking To Hit The 800hp Mark?

By  |

Alfa Romeo is looking to build a new Alfa Romeo 8C model that will be coming in as a hybrid supercar and new reports are now suggesting that it might even offer about 800hp when it arrives.

According to Car Magazine, the new Alfa Romeo will be coming in with a mid-engine layout and inside will be a 2.9 liter twin-turbo V6 engine taken from the Giulia Quadrifoglio. The Alfa Romeo will also be riding on the carbon fibre platform.

On the Giulia Quadrifoglio, the engine delivers about 500hp right now, it is believed that it will be offering close to 600hp when fitted to the 8C. However, Alfa Romeo won’t be stopping there as well. It was added that they might add an electric engine to bring the numbers up to 800hp.

The Ferrari 488 Pista currently offers about 710hp engine so we can see where Alfa Romeo plans to go with this. As usual, the 8C will come as a limited model although we do not know how many of these Alfa Romeo is looking to build.
