SsangYong will also want to be a part of the EV market as they announce that their Korando will also be getting an all-electric version and here is what we know about the electric versions.
This will be SsangYong’s first EV model. According to the automaker, the Korando E100 will be fitted with an electric motor that will have about 188hp to offer which puts it on top of the Korando with the 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine.
Powering the motor will be the 61.5kWh battery pack by LG Chem which is said to give the Korando EV model about 261miles of range to over on the NEDC testing cycle. While real-world numbers should be lower, we are still expecting something above the 200 miles range.
The EV model is expected to arrive in 2021. SsangYong will also be working on a mild-hybrid diesel version of the Korando which is expected to arrive in 2022.
