2020 Volkswagen All-Electric ID: How Far Will It Go?

Volkswagen will be working on a few electric models with the first of it coming in 2020. According to Volkswagen, the production version of the ID, I.D CROZZ, I.D BUZZ, and I.D VIZZION concept is close to complete in terms of design and development.

Volkswagen reveals that they have already signed contracts with battery suppliers for the vehicles that will be riding on their MEB architecture. The same platform that will be used for under electric models from Audi, Seat, Skoda, and Volkswagen.

The ID model will come with an electric motor that will be integrated into the rear axle. The battery pack will be fitted underneath the floor. All-wheel models will get an extra electric motor in the front.

They also confirm that the modular battery pack will allow the vehicle to go about 200miles to 340miles of range. They also hinted that they might offer a few battery pack options for each model.

The ID family will also come with a new electronic architecture called E3 which will have a more powerful processor with a new vw.OS operating system with OTA updates.
