2020 Ford F-150 Hybrid: Plug-In Not In The Picture?

By  |

Ford has announced that the Ford F-150 will eventually be getting a hybrid version of their own. The hybrid model will be coming in as a 2020 model and will be manufactured at their Dearborn plant instead of Kansas City.

There is not a whole lot of details right now but it is believed that the Ford F-150 will be using the 5.0-liter V8 engine and the hybrid tech from Mustang to make this happen. The hybrid system could also end up being a mobile generator for owners to operate power tools at remote job sites.

Fans were hoping to get some additional information about a plug-in hybrid for the Ford F-150. Although it does not look like it will be coming with the Hybrid model, Ford might still offer it in the near future as Bill Ford Jr hinted that there might be more engine options including a full electric in the future. This is far from a confirmation but at least we know that they are not throwing anything out yet.
