By  |

The 2019 Volkswagen Golf will be coming in with a new engine under the hood. While the new engine will be offering less than the current model, the Volkswagen Golf will have something more to offer.

Under the hood is now a 1.4-liter turbo four engine that will be offering about 147hp and 184lb ft of torque. That means the vehicle will be offering 22hp less now. To make up for that, the transmission will be upgraded with one cog added to the five-speed manual while the six-speed automatic transmission will add two cogs.

Depending on the transmission, the Volkswagen will be returning about 28 mpg in the city and 40 on the highway. With the six-speed automatic transmission, the vehicle will be offering about 28mpg in the city and 38mpg on the highway.

The Golf S will also come fitted with an automatic emergency braking and blind spot monitors.
