2019 Porsche 911 Speedster Not Just A Concept

By  |

Porsche celebrated its birthday with a concept version of the 991.2-generation 911 Speedster and while they did not announce that the concept was eventually going to be turned into a production model, it looks like that was their plan all along.

The Porsche 911 Speedster prototype was spotted on the public road getting tested. Based on the 911 GTS Chassis, the vehicle will carry over much of its design although you won’t be mistaking it for anything else thanks to the Speedster hood.

Looking at the test model, it does look like the 911 Speedster is close to production ready which means we might be seeing it really soon. As for its powertrain, most people believe that Porsche will just carry over the engine from the concept which is the 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated six-cylinder engine that will be offering about 500hp and 339lb ft of torque.

This will allow the vehicle to go from 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds with a top speed of 198mph. The concept was also fitted with a six-speed manual transmission.
