Peugeot has announced that they will be offering a plug-in hybrid version of the 2019 Peugeot 508 and it looks like the consumers are all for it.

According to Autocar, the new 2019 Peugeot 508 Plug-in Hybrid will be powered by a 1.6-liter petrol engine that will be paired with an electric motor to deliver about 296hp combined. The vehicle would also be able to travel on electric alone for 31miles.

It was added that the ICE would be channelling the power to the front axle via an eight-speed automatic transmission while the electric motor will send power to the rear wheels. This layout will also be used on other models in the future. Although Peugeot has not announced anything, it is believed that the 3008 and 5008 could be getting the same layout in the near future.

There were also talks about a new 508 that might come powered by the 1.6 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine.
