By  |

There is already a lot to love about the current Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV model so to hear that Mitsubishi will be giving it even more upgrades for 2019 makes the vehicle even more attractive. However, the upgrades will only be offered to the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV in Japan for now.

The 2019 model’s battery capacity will now be increased to 13.8kWh instead of 12kWh. With that upgrade, the vehicle will be able to offer about 40.4 miles of all-electric driving range. The rear electric motor will offer more power now and the gas engine will be upgraded from 3.0 to 2.4 liter.

On top of that, the Outlander PHEV will also come with new Sport and Snow modes now. On the outside, the 2019 model will also be fitted with full LED headlights with an upgraded grille. The vehicle will also be fitted with a new spoiler.

No word on when this updated model will be offered to the other markets.
