2019 Mazda CX-5: What’s New?

Mazda showed off the 2019 Mazda CX-5 in Japan giving us all a glimpse at what Mazda is looking to offer on their CX-5 this time.

One of the major upgrades is the new turbocharged 2.5 liters inline-four gasoline engine, the same engine that Mazda is offering on their Mazda 6 and Mazda CX-9. The engine will be offering about 227hp and 310lb ft of torque.

Diesel fans will also be happy to know that Mazda kept the 2.2-liter SkyActiv-D engine which will now be offered with a six-speed manual transmission. The 2019 model will also be getting the new G-Vectoring Control Plus which will improve handling stability at high speeds and emergency maneuvers.

Safety features like the Nighttime Pedestrian Detection, Advanced Smart City Braking Support, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay will all be offered as standard now.

Mazda also announces the Exclusive Mode which will come with Dark Gloss aluminum wheels, Nappa leather on the inside, 7inch TFT display and more. The Mazda CX-5 will be offered for $22,775 in Japan.
