2019 Mazda 6 Skyactiv-D: There Is Still Hope

By  |

There have long been talks about Mazda looking to release a diesel-powered Mazda 6 here in the US but we know that that has never happened but it looks like there is still hope for those hoping to own a diesel-powered Mazda 6 here in the US.

Some spies managed to capture images of the diesel-powered Mazda 6 getting tested at an EPA facility in Michigan. This suggests that Mazda could still be trying to offer their diesel option here in the US but are having some issue getting it approved by the government.

Mazda has also made it clear that diesel would play a big part in their plan but with them focusing more on plugin hybrid, EV, and fuel cells, we might see Diesel taking a back seat soon.

Of course, we are still hoping that the Mazda CX-5 and Mazda 6 would eventually get approved by EPA.
