2019 Mazda 3: Diesel Fans Can Look Somewhere Else?

By  |

With more and more automakers choosing to focus their attention on EV models instead of diesel, we are definitely seeing fewer diesel offering now. With Mazda latest claim of their new gas engine, some fans are also worried that Mazda will be walking away from diesel engines as well.

Mazda announces that their newer models like the 2019 Mazda 3 will be fitted with the new SkyActiv-X petrol engine. While they have not revealed any numbers yet, they did suggest that the new engine’s MPG figure will be close to what a diesel engine has to offer. Will this mean that no diesel option will be offered?

Besides getting the new engine, the 2019 Mazda 3 will also come with a new design based on the latest Kai Concept design language. Spy shots suggest that Mazda will be staying very close to what the concept has to offer so that should give us an idea of what to expect from the Mazda 3 when the 2019 model arrives.
