After the whole Volkswagen diesel scandal emission mess, it seems like the consumers in the US has a trust issue with diesel-powered models but that is not going to stop Kia from offering their diesel-powered Kia Sorento here in the US.

According to Car and Driver, Kia will be launching their diesel-powered Kia Sorento in the US early next year. Kia later announces that they are currently working with EPA to get the diesel-powered model approved for the US market.

At this point, we still do not know what engine the vehicle will be hiding under the hood but most people believe that we might see the 2.2 liters turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will offer about 197hp and 325lb ft of torque when it arrives.

That is if it gets approved so let’s keep our fingers crossed. Do you think the diesel-powered Sorento will be well received if it does arrive?
