2019 Jeep Cherokees & More Forced To Return [Recall]

By  |

FCA will have to recall some of their models after it was discovered that they might have a braking issue. Although the recall will be affecting 210,000 on paper, the process was made easier mainly because most of the affected models are still new and is still on the dealer lot.

Models that will be affected by the recall include the 2018 Dodge Journeys, 2019 Jeep Cherokee, 2018 & 2019 Dodge Grand Caravans, 2018-2019 Jeep Compasses. According to the report, the brake system component failed to meet FCA specifications.

NHTSA also added that the insufficiently coated rear brake caliper pistons may cause the gas pocket to form in the brake fluid of some of the new vehicles. While the brake will still work with the gas pocket the stopping distance can be affected.

To fix this, the vehicle’s brake systems will be inspected and re-bled. The recall will start on the 28th of September.
