IIHS took the 2019 Jeep Cherokee in for their usual safety test and ended up giving the vehicle a Top Safety Pick rating.
The 2019 model was given a Good rating was all the six crashworthiness test that IIHS did which was a huge improvement since the earlier models were only given a Marginal rating. The improvement was thanks to the high-strength steel on the A-pillars, front door-hinge pillars and door sills.
The 2019 model was also given sone front crash prevention technology and high-beam assist on LED projector headlights which were given an Acceptable rating. Its automatic emergency braking system which is also optional was given a superior rating.
While it was not given the Top Safety Pick+ rating, the latest rating is already a huge improvement over what it was awarded the last time around.
