2019 Honda CR-V Hybrid: More Powertrain Option Announced

The all-new 2019 Honda CR-V arrived in Europe not too long ago and now, it looks like Honda is ready to offer another powertrain option there.

When the vehicle was first released, it was only offered with the 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine but customers will soon be able to get it with a hybrid engine under the hood. The Honda CR-V Hybrid will be the first Honda hybrid ever sold in Europe.

The hybrid model will come powered by a 2.0-liter i-VTEC Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine that will be mated o a direct transmission with a single fixed-gear ratio and lithium-ion battery pack. The combination will allow the vehicle to offer about 181hp and 232lb ft of torque.

The vehicle will also come with the Multi-Mode Drive which will automatically switch in between three driving modes to improve the efficiency of the vehicle. There is the EV Drive mode, Hybrid Drive mode, and Engine Drive mode.

Production for the Honda CR-V Hybrid will be starting in October 2018 which deliveries starting early next year.
