2019 Ford Transit Connect: Efficiency Is The Way To Go

By  |

With so many options out there, the 2019 Ford Transit Connect will really have to offer something better if they want to stand out. Well, with the new fuel economy numbers, it might just be what they need.

According to Ford, the 2019 Ford Transit will be coming in with a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. The engine will return about 24mpg in the city and 29mpg on the highway.

With those numbers, the Ford Transit Connect will be coming in as the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid minivan in the US taking down models like the Pacifica, Honda Odyssey, and Nissan NV200. Some of those came close but not enough.

As good as this sounds, some people think it might be too good for Ford’s sake as their 1.5-liter turbodiesel engine powered model which will be arriving later will only be able to offer 30mpg on the highway. That 1mpg difference is not that impressive and people might just ignore the diesel model and go for the gasoline option.
