Dodge certainly went home the winner the day they brought out their new Dodge Challenger Hellcat. The vehicle came in with its 700hp+ engine that put their other competitors to shame but Ford is now ready to fight back with their Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. In fact, new rumors are suggesting that it would deliver more than the Hellcat when it finally arrives.

Ford has finally confirmed that they are working on a new Shelby GT500 model that would be arriving next year. According to the latest rumor, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will be offering more than 700hp when it finally arrives.

Of course, we still do not know what engine Ford will be fitting into their new Shelby GT500 but Car and Driver seem to think that it could be a 5.2-liter V8 engine that will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed auto transmission.

Spy shots of the vehicle also reveal that the Shelby GT500 will be keeping the older Ford Mustang design instead of getting the new updated 2018 Ford Mustang design.
