2019 Chevrolet Silverado Update Will Allow Truck To Match Rivals

By  |

Those looking for a more fuel efficient option of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado will have to go for the 5.3 liters V8 engine now since that is able to offer about 17mpg in the city and 23mpg on the highway but that was before the new turbo-four came into the picture.

Chevrolet will be offering their Silverado with the 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will be able to offer about 20mpg in the city and 23mpg on the highway which means the Silverado will be matching models like the Ram 1500 and the Ford F-150.

The turbocharged engine will be offering about 310hp and 348lb ft of torque. The new engine was made exclusively for trucks and will come with the active fuel management cylinder deactivation technology and active thermal management which will help recover exhaust heat for faster engine and transmission warm up. It will also come with stop-start tech to shut off the engine in stop-and-go traffic.
