Soon the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and the next generation Chevrolet Corvette will have something in common, plenty of fire. This is thanks to the fact that both vehicles will share the same engine.
There are plenty of rumours going around about the 6th gen Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 about the LT5 engine and this is the engine that will power the Corvette along with the Z/28.
We saw the 6th gen Camaro ZL1 last year going around Nurburgring and then a video of a 6th Camaro that crashed on the same track. People thought that this was the Camaro Z/28 that had crashed but then we saw the Camaro ZL1 1LE with some aero bits and people then figured that it was this vehicle that had crashed.
It was then said that as the Camaro ZL1 1LE had arrived we were not going to see the Camaro Z/28, but there are many people who disagree and think that we will see a new performance car come our way as the 2019 model and it will have one of two new high performance engines.
In December of last year it was revealed that there was a new LT5 engine coming for the Chevrolet Camaro and there were hints that it would be the V8 6.2 litre all-aluminium naturally aspirated dual overhead cam version. An engine such as this could possibly make more than 550 horses and this would seem reasonable for the Camaro Z/28.
For the time being GM are keeping quiet about the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and we don’t know when they will open up and give us some information about what could be the next high performance muscle car from GM.
