By  |

More often than not, when a model gets a refresh or is updated, the automaker will try to also improve the fuel economy of the vehicle but in the case of the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro, some models actually got worse.

According to the latest updates from EPA on the FuelEconomy.gov website, the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro SS will actually return less now with its automatic transmission. The vehicle was given the new 10-speed automatic transmission which on paper should make the vehicle more fuel efficient but the vehicle now returns 16mpg in the city which is 1 mpg lower than before while the highway EPA remains the same.

The SS fitted with the manual transmission also drop 1 mpg on the highway. Besides the SS, the Camaro V6’s EPA also dropped by 1mpg. The rest of the lineup remained the same. No explanation was given as to why some of the models were not doing better than the 2018 models.
