2019 Acura RDX: Headlight Did Not Get In The Way

By  |

While most SUV was only given the Top Safety Pick award by IIHS, the 2019 Acura RDX managed to get themselves the Top Safety Pick+.

To earn the top award, the vehicle must have a “good” rating in the driver side small overlap crash test, moderate overlap front, side and roof strength and head restraint test and at least an “acceptable” rating for the passenger side small overlap test. The 2019 Acura RDX managed to get a Good rating for all including the headlight test thanks to the LED headlight which has been the reason why so many SUV and crossover failed to get the top award from IIHS.

The 2019 Acura RDX was also given a “superior” rating for its AcuraWatch safety technology as it managed to avoid collisions at 12 and 25mph. On top of that, the Acura RDX will also come with the Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, high-strength steel door stiffener rings as well as eight airbags.
