2018 Subaru WRX STI: New Platform, New Turbo – New Hybrid?

The 2018 Subaru Impreza WRX STi may be about to get a performance version and it is thought that it will arrive as the MY2018 and it will be out next year.

The Subaru WRX STi is the only representative of the Japanese model that is bred for rallying and it will be the only one with the WRC pedigree. One of the things that we know about the next gen vehicle is that it will be getting rid of the 2.5 litre boxer engine and go for the 2 litre instead. It will offer up more than 325 horses and 295 torque and we have heard rumours that there may also be a hybrid model coming our way.

The hybrid version isn’t going to be focused on performance and it is going to add some weight onto the vehicle. The hybrid is going to benefit from offering great fuel economy along with emissions and this will counteract the hike in price that would come with the vehicle.

It is thought that the Subaru WRX STi is going to offer up the classic styling and it should offer up a hood scoop, which will feed the top mounted intercooler. It will offer the dual exhaust system, have tweaks to the body and a different wheel pattern.

The cabin of the Subaru WRX STi is going to offer up some sporty elements and we for one are very excited about its arrival next year.
