2018 Nissan Pathfinder & More Recalled Over Fire Risk

By  |

Nissan issues a recall to bring back some of the models here in the US due to fire risk. According to the reports, the issue is with the anti-lock brake pump seal.

Nissan explains that the bad seal could cause the brake fluid to leak into the electronic circuit board causing the vehicle to malfunction. If this does happen, the ABS warning lamp will turn on so if you see this, you need to stop driving or you might risk an electrical short causing a fire.

Vehicles that will be affected by the recall include the 2017 and 2018 Nissan Pathfinder, 2016 and 2017 Nissan Maxima, 2015 to 2017 Nissan Murano, and the 2017 Infiniti QX60. Owners affected by the issue will be notified by Nissan soon.

Affected models will be asked to get their ABS actuators replaced at the dealers. So if you do own one of these models, make sure to check your ABS light.
