2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross: Turbo Rival To Honda CR-V?

By  |

The 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is coming with the 1.5 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine and it could be a rival to the Honda CR-V with its 1.5 litre turbo.

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross now offers a profile that is more along that of a coupe and it is going to arrive at the Geneva Motor Show. Mitsubishi has gone out on a limb when it comes to the design of the vehicle.

While at the front it looks like any other vehicle from the carmaker, thanks to the headlights and grille, it does have a liftgate that is steeply raked and this sets it apart. There is a bar the same colour as the body splitting the window at the back into two and it is home to the C-shaped lights, which are unique.

It looks like the carmaker wanted to establish a connection with the old coupe with the exterior styling. However, when you look into the cabin you find that it offers a more modern design along with a new infotainment system.

The touchscreen in the centre plays home to Apple CarPlay and other functions, such as Google Maps and music. The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross now has a head-up display along with touchpad controller. The seating is 60:40 setup and they are slide and recline and now fold much simpler.

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross offers the 1.5 litre turbocharged engine and this comes with CVT. You can also get it with the 2.2 litre turbocharged diesel engine with eight speed automatic transmission. Measurements are 173.4 inches in length, 71.06 wide and the wheelbase is 105.1 inches.

We are expecting the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross to arrive in dealerships in Europe in the fall and it should arrive in North America and other regions shortly afterwards.
