2018 Mazda 6: Not All Models Made It

By  |

The Mazda CX-5 was just given the Top Safety Pick + award by IIHS which is nice but what about the 2018 Mazda 6? Well, IIHS has just announced their verdict for the 2018 Mazda 6 and it looks like not all of them made it to the top.

According to IIHS, the Mazda 6 was given the Top Safety Pick+ rating as well just like the Mazda CX-5 but only the models that have the optional Adaptive Front-Lighting System feature. As we all know, only some of the higher trim models will be offered the optional features and only those were given the top safety rating.

Since the lower models were not given the option to add the safety feature, the rating will be lower than the higher trim model.

According to Mazda, most of the crashes happen in the dark and the standard headlights that automakers are offering now are just not enough. The Adaptive Headlights greatly improves the visibility of the driver because it follows the front wheels.
