2018 Mazda 3: Civic Will Have To Step Aside

By  |

With all the upgrades that the Honda Civic had, you would think that the new Honda Civic would be unstoppable but that might not happen now that the 2018 Mazda 3 is here.

While the Mazda 3 will look the same on the outside, the upgrade under the hood is what we need to focus on right now. According to Mazda, they have upgraded the Mazda 3 engine so that the vehicle is now 30% for fuel efficient than the previous model.

The new Mazda 3 engine will use the homogeneous charge compression ignition which will allow the engine to work almost like a diesel engine. According to Mazda, this will allow the Mazda 3 engine to use up less fuel when compared with the standard engine.

Mazda 3 will be the first to run on the engine but we can expect to see more of it in the other Mazda models in the future. With the upgrade, we are expecting the 2018 Mazda 3 to offer about 43mpg on average. The Civic offers about 35mpg now.
