2018 Jeep Wrangler Not As Tough As We Thought

By  |

When it was revealed that the Jeep Wrangler will be getting an upgrade, a lot of people were expecting to see it come with a new design. Of course, as with any iconic cars, some people were afraid that Jeep would mess up the design and ask that Jeep keeps the current design on for a little longer but most poeple were expecting to see some kind of upgrade.

However, it looks like the Jeep Wrangler chicken out at the end. Based on some of the latest spy shots of the Jeep Wrangler, it looks like Jeep will be keeping the same design after all.

Since the vehicle was covered in camo stickers and tarps, we can’t really make out all the details but the shape of the test mule looks a lot like the Wrangler we have now.

Even though there were rumors saying that the Wrangler will be coming in with a longer hood and steeper windshield for better aerodynamics, we don’t see them here. The spy images did confirm that the Wrangler will be getting a backup camera this time.

The current Jeep Wrangler is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that will be offering about 285hp. The engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission or five-speed auto transmission. It will return about 17mph in the city and 21mpg on the highway.

More details about the new model should be revealed soon.
