2018 Jeep Wrangler Copies The Renegade In The Right Way

By  |

It looks like the 2018 Jeep Wrangler is copying the Renegade in all the right ways as the Wrangler is going to offer a three piece roof which has been inspired by the two-piece of the Renegade.

Spy photos captured the four door Jeep Wrangler prototype out in testing and it seems that it has the true three-piece hardtop that has been rumoured. This means that the front two or all roof panels could be removed and some of the pillars could be kept in place. It is possible that all of the roof could be taken away.

We have heard that there will be other options for the roof of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler and these include a fabric roof that can retract, a hard glass roof and perhaps the removal of the basic folding soft top roof.

The next gen SUV is said to be getting lighter in weight as aluminium has been used. However the body of the vehicle is still going to be made from steel. It has been said that there will be a new 2 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine in the Jeep Wrangler and this has the name of the Hurricane and will be more efficient with the fuel. There is also the V6 Pentastar engine with eight-speed automatic engine, a 3 litre V6 turbodiesel engine is heading to the US. We have also heard that there may be a hybrid powertrain coming our way.

We are expecting to hear more details about the 2018 Jeep Wrangler in the months to come.
