2018 Hyundai Kona Held Back By Its Headlights

By  |

The 2018 Hyundai Kona was tested by IIHS and while the vehicle is performing well in most of the test, the disappointing headlights meant that the Kona had to miss out on getting the IIHS Top Safety Pick rating.

According to the reports, the Hyundai Kina cash test results would have been enough to score the Top Safety Pick rating since they were all given the Good rating but that did not happen as the standard halogen headlights, as well as the LED headlight option, were both given a Poor rating.

It was reported that the standard lights did not give the driver enough illumination and both lights had to much glare that it would affect oncoming drivers. While it is a pity that the vehicle won’t be getting the high rating, it also means that the vehicle is still a pretty safe vehicle and would be a good choice if you can ignore the whole issue about the headlights.
