2018 Honda Civic Si Coupe vs Volkswagen GTi Autobahn: Small But Powerful

By  |

Honda has certainly made a few drastic changes to their Civic Si Coupe model including removing the naturally aspirated engine to the turbocharged four-cylinder engine but is it going to be enough to take on the Volkswagen GTi Autobahn.

The 2018 Honda Civic Si will be coming in with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The engine will be offering about 205hp and will be offering about 8.4 liters / 100km in the city and 6.2 liters/100km on the highway.

The Volkswagen GTi Autobahn, on the other hand, will come in with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that will be fitted with a six-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The engine will be offering about 220hp and will have a fuel economy of 9..6 liters/100km in the city and 7.2 liters/100km on the highway.

In terms of design, the Honda Civic Si Coupe is definitely the winner here and if we also take into consideration the price and all the new tech, the Civic Si Coupe might have the upper hand here. What do you think?
