2018 GMC Terrain Recalled Over Airbag Issue

By  |

The 2018 GMC Terrain will be called back after it was discovered that an issue with the airbag software could prevent the airbags from deploying in the event of an accident.

According to the report, the issue here is with the Sensing Diagnostic Module which senses the accident and then deploys the airbag but an error with the module could mean that it won’t trigger the airbags in an accident.

GM added that about 1% of the 2018 GMC Terrain will be affected by the defect and that there have not been any accidents or injury that is caused by the issue. Since it is a software issue, the fix should be easy.

While we wait for GM to recall and fix the vehicles, you might want to take note of the sign. If the system is not working on your Terrain, the airbag light in the instrument cluster will come on. You can also contact GMC customer service to find out more.
