2018 Ford Mustang GT500 May Arrive With Choice Of Two Powertrains

By  |

Ford has the Ford Mustang GT500 in development and it is thought that the vehicle may arrive next year. We have heard a lot of talk about the powertrain of the vehicle and the 5 litre Coyote engine.

Ford do want to downsize and there are many people who say that the Ford Mustang GT500 isn’t going to offer up the 5 litre V8 supercharged engine offering 627 horses. People believe that Ford will give it the twin turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine, offering up the same amount of horses.

We believe that the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is going to offer both of the engines, however the V8 should offer up less power than the GT500 that is on the market at the moment. It should be akin to the GT350 and the naturally aspirated engine is going to look weaker and this way the EcoBoost engine takes on a more attractive look to it.

It is thought that this might be the last time that the V8 engine is offered in the Ford Mustang GT500 as it is going out of favor; however we are going to have to wait to see what Ford chooses to do.
