2018 Ford F-150 Tag Teams With Ram 1500 To Bully Silverado

By  |

The 2018 Ford F-150 and the Ram 1500 have teamed up to make the perfect tag team to bully the Chevrolet Silverado. We say this as both Ram and Ford offers up a half-ton diesel engine by way of the V6 3 litre Power Stroke diesel, which leaves GM the odd one out.

The new V6 diesel engine is going to come with the 10 speed automatic gears, however Ford didn’t say what power rating it would have on the 2018 Ford F-150. It is thought that it would match, or perhaps even beat, the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel engine, which offers 240 horses along with 420 torque.

If you want a smaller diesel engine then you are going to have to take a look at the Chevrolet Colorado or the GMC Canyon diesel, which are both in the midsized category but which cannot be compared against the Ford F-150. GM should consider adding more diesel options to the line-up, the Equinox and GMC Terrain are also going to be offering a diesel engine.

For the time being it is the tag team of the 2018 Ford F-150 and the Ram 1500 that have the market all sewed up.
